EducationJunior English Major/Music Minor at Campbellsville University. 4.0 GPA.
ExperienceI work as a Writing Consultant at my University, so I help students every day with writing skills, grammar, and MLA/APA formatting. I scored a 30 overall on my ACT, with my lowest scores being in Math and Science (a 23 and 24, respectively) and my highest in Reading and English (35 and 36, respectively). I have passed all of my high school and college math and algebra courses with A's. Math may not be my strongest suit or favorite area, but I can do it accurately and work through the processes and formulas, explaining each step as I go along. I am a music minor, so I am proficient by now in all of my major and minor scales, sight-reading, harmonization and basic music theory. My emphasis in Music is voice. I want to be a tutor because I enjoy helping fellow students learn, and I also enjoy sharing what I know with others.
HobbiesI love Writing; it's my first love. I've been able to read since I was 3 and ever since I haven't been able to stop. I took up writing in a journal at around age 6. My mother says that my test scores in school were always incredible, mostly due to the early education I received at home--my mother and aunt teaching me to read. Never underestimate the power of reading. I also love music, and I love to sing. Right now I'm also learning how to play the piano and I absolutely love it. I am a naturally introverted person, but I've learned over the years how to make it work in this social world. I have a gentle nature and I will take all the time that the student needs, especially when that student shows a love for learning.
